A hand-rolled votive in 100% pure beeswax, about 1.8 inches across and 2 inches tall, with a softly pointed top that comes from the rolling rather than from a mould. Every candle is rolled one at a time, so the surface keeps the slight spiral seam of the sheet it was made from. Each candle burns for about 4 to 5 hours.

We work from honey cappings, the thin layer of wax that seals ripened honey, and follow a traditional water bath method: the wax is filtered, left to cool on its own and poured by hand. No additives, no artificial fragrance, no chemical dyes, only the faint natural scent of beeswax. A light frost-like bloom on the surface is a hallmark of pure beeswax, not a defect.

How to use them

• Trim the wick to about 1/4 inch before each lighting
• Set each votive in a votive holder or on a heat-resistant plate
• Keep them out of draughts so the flame stays still and the wax burns evenly
• Never leave a burning candle unattended, and keep it away from anything that can catch
• Let the holder cool completely before you move or replace a candle

Common questions

How long does each candle burn? About 4 to 5 hours in still air with the wick trimmed. Draught, room temperature and how long you burn it each time all change the total.

Do they need a holder? Yes. A votive sits best in a votive cup or on a heat-resistant plate, which also catches the melted wax.

Why do the tops look slightly different from candle to candle? They are rolled by hand rather than cast in a mould, so the seam and the point of each one vary a little. That variation is how a hand-rolled candle looks.

Are they scented? No. They are unscented, with no added fragrance, only the faint natural scent of beeswax.

What is the difference between Natural and Cream White? The same pure beeswax, with no dye added to either. Natural keeps the honey-gold tone of the wax, and Cream White is the lighter tone.
